Exporting dried shrimps

QUALITY SPECIFICATION SHEET: DRIED SHRIMPS

The following describes the acceptable Quality Standards by Majdi Food Center.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. COLOR: Dried Shrimps shall have a uniform size. It shall have a Reddish brown color. It shall be free from any added color

2. SIZE: An average length of 25mm and 10mm width

3. ODOUR: The odor shall be free from foreign flavors and rancid smell.

4. CLEANLINESS: It shall be free from living and dead insects. It shall be free from insect fragment & any rodent contamination.

5. EXTRANEOUS MATTER: It shall be free from extraneous matter includes dirt, dust, stones, pieces of wood, hair and any part not related to  shrimps.

6. TINY SHRIMPS: The ratio of tiny shrimps shall not exceed 2.0%.

7. INFESTATION: Shall be free from Animal/Fungus infestation.

PACKING & TRANSPORTATION

1. PACKING: Shall be packed in new, clean & dry bags made of material that ensures the preservation of the product’s color & quality. Each Bag should have the following details all in ENGLISH & ARABIC:

* Name of Product    

* Country of Origin     

  * Net Weight     

* Production Date: Month / Year

 

2. TRANSPORTATION: It shall be transported in standard dry containers (a suitable de-humidifier Agent must be provided to ensure required dryness) or trailers that are protected from rain, sun, excessive heat, & objectionable odor. Container & Product must be fumigated.
